After the kids grew up and moved on, he continued going to shows on his own, accompanied by his wife who then started running as well! A member of the Indiana chapter of the International Barrel Racing Association, Dr. Carter has finished in the top 5 of his division 8 out of the last 10 seasons, and has been the division champion 3 times.
